When did you start blogging and how did you come to the idea?
I started blogging 4 years ago. It started out of pure boredom. I was a stay at home mom (decided to be for 6 months), not knowing that a day can drag when everyone else is at work. I called up my sister and asked her if she wanted to start a fashion blog with me, and with all the excitement it all started. So FASHIOLIEZTA was previously known as MESHAREYOUSHARELIKESISTERS. Unfortunately, my sister didn’t have much time for the blog as I had due to her having a full time job and ever since then I’ve been solo and FASHIOLIEZTA was born. For the past two years I’ve been blogging full-time and also in this time started doing freelance work all fashion, beauty and lifestyle related.

Who is your style icon? Why?
I have three: Kate Moss, Nicole Richie and Sienna Miller. I relate to their style. It’s simple and easy yet has that added chic to it.

How do you describe your personal style? What are your inspirations?
It’s very simple with and added chic to it. It’s definitely evolved over the years. What’s noticeable that it also maturing. I get a lot of my inspirations from Sienna Miller, Kate and Nicole, but add some ME in there with some boyish flair.

What are the essential pieces you must have in your closet?
A nude trench coat, black skinny jeans, basic white T and a well-fitted black blazer.

How often do you post? How do you come up with post ideas?
I post 6 days a week, sometimes the whole 7. Over the time I’ve divided my days and know already which posts goes on what days and what are the booming days (days when traffic hits high). Monday, Wednesday and Friday are Personal Style Post days. Tuesday and Thursday are My Picks and Get The Look days. Sunday is Trend/Inspiration post days.

What would you describe the biggest challenge in fashion blogging?
Blogging in itself is very challenging especially when you turn it into a business. From coming up with post ideas, to doing photoshoots and writing and styling it takes a lot of a person. Everyone always sees the end result – beautiful pictures and post – but doesn’t know how much time, money and effort it takes to get that all done. It’s hard work, but if you’re dedicated and stay to yourself and your readers (don’t underestimate them, they see when things are advertised or false) then it all works out. I love what I do, so it hardly feels like work to me.

What is the greatest satisfaction of being a fashion blogger?
I love what I do. I am one of the lucky ones who can do what they love and get an income from it. But all in all, working with brands and getting to work on different project (blogging opens a lot of doors) is a great thing for me. Mostly, being able to inspire people is the best thing for me. I get such a great amount of love from people that I don’t even know or have met just because I inspire them even if it is just by wearing something, that to me is the greater deal.

A fashion rule you never break?
Always be comfortable.

What do you splurge on?
Jeans! A good quality pair of jeans goes a long way.

From your point of view, what is the notable trend for the upcoming season?
Currently (for me): colour block boots, flat pointy mules and straight leg cut-off jeans

Do you make money from your blog? Any advice for others?
Yes I do. Firstly, it’s not a get rich over- night thing. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to be able to generate an income from blogging. Stay true to yourself and your readers, they will know when you’re just trying to sell something and that switches them off. Of course, there are sponsors and different bloggers advertise differently, but staying true to your readers is more important or you’ll lose out. When contacted by a brand, know that sometimes it’s okay to decline the collaboration. You need to stay true to yourself otherwise things just ends up looking messy and unstable.

What has been your most successful blog post till now and what was it about?
I’m not 100% sure, but there are a few trend posts that have done well over the years up till now and some of my personal style ones.

How do you see your blog in 5 years?
I’m always growing and will never stop. So, in 5 years I can only hope that all the hard work I have put in so far and will, will work out even more and collaborate with even major brands out there.
